| Temp is 98.3! Puppy Watch Abby's temp dropped this am. and is currently at 98.3. She is very restless and beginning to pant a little. Then she settles down and then up again digging and shivering. Right now she is on her back wanting me to pet her and shivering a little. Don't know how long it will be. Last time we had a very long night. Her temp dropped in the am and she didn't start panting until 11 pm and didn't have her first baby until 5 am. hope that doesn't happen this time, but will be up with her if it does. I'm so excited can't wait to see out babies. Will keep you guys posted. |

| Yeah! DDj2, I wish you a safe, fast whelp and healthy puppies. She might have an easier time since she's already done this before. I was thinking of you today, Rosie is acting different too (temp yesterday was at 98.4), she is finally choosing to sleep in her whelping bed although we have no shivering going on. When you break away from her for a minute I would love to hear how she is doing. Go Abby! I would love for someone to get their babies today!

| Very common for a whelping bitch's temp. to drop low 24 hours before delivery of the first pup. Good luck. My Goldens always came and sat at my feet when in labor. Of course they are bigger than our babies, their whelping box is much bigger. Can't tell you how many times I slept with my Goldens in their whelping box. WITH a blanket and pillow. Do we love our dogs or what?? |

| Abby's not doing much. Could be another long night. She is sleeping in her whelping box on her back, not much going on. Though it is really fun to just sit here and watch her babies rock and roll in her belly. Looks like it has to be uncomfortable. How many puppies are you expecting? I can't remember? Hope you have a safe and quick delivery. It seems like you have to wait so long for their temp to drop, and you know that puppies will be here soon, yet then there is this long wait before they really start going into labor. Anyway it is all great. Keep me posted on your girl. Thanks Deb |

| X-rays showed 3 puppies, but I'm not convinced there are only three. She is as big as she was when she had 4 the last time. And the x-ray was taken 1 week ago tuesday, so we may not have seen one of them. She has gained 2 lbs. and seems much more uncomfortable this time around, but only time will tell. I will keep everyone posted. |

| Abby will move from the whelping box to her pillow bed dig and then back to the other. She also doesn't want to go anywhere besides outside to go to the bathroom and then back up to my bathroom which is where her whelping bed is. So we will see. Thanks Deb |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Looks like we are on an official puppy watch!! Hopefully since there has been some digging & shivering going on things will at least get started before I head off to bed tonight. If she does get started, I just may have to try and stay up for the whole thing since I don't have to work tomorrow. Good luck.......I'll keep my eyes glued to this thread.

| We are expecting 5. Rosie is really drawing this one out. She made her bed a little bit today, but nothing else but a contraction here and there to speak of right now. She is sticking pretty close to me. Right now shes just standing beside me staring at me, but I am not getting the feeling she wants anything from me. did you feel if there was a puppy in her birth canal yet? I guess you just press on her skin inbetween her tail and her vulva, apparently you can feel a hard bulge if one is there. If there isn't one there it will just feel mushy. I will check back in on you soon Deb. I hope you can manage a little snooze sometime tonight.

| Well we have 3 little boys. #1 was born 8:25 pm @ 6.0 oz. #2 born @ 9:05pm and 5.6 oz. # 3 at 10:06 and 4.8 oz. Was certain that we had at least one girl. Oh well. Abby is panting, but resting with all of them. There may be another on in there. sometimes I feel something that feels like a head and maybe feet. We'll see. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Rosiegirl pray that you have a smooth whelp, can get kind of exciting. Can't wait to hear from you. Deb |
