| My male will not mount my female Okay, Friday was my females 10th day of cycle. LAST week my male was like, wow I can do this and all of a sudden, (now that my female is putting her stuff in his face) he will not mount her. He licks her and follows her but will not mount her. I have never had this problem with any other breeding pair. I've never had a breeding pair of yorkies before so I thought I would ask you guys. |

| The reasons I have found for that to happen is. The male is to young or the female is not quite ready in her cycle. Good luck |

| My they are both over 2 1/2 yrs. old. She is so ready that she is even putting herself in my spayed dogs face. I have been keeping them seperated and he gets really excited to see her and then he licks and acts like he's going to do something and then nothing. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Maybe she hasn't ovulated yet. Try getting her progesterone level tested....or maybe you need to assist them. I assist breedings, when the girl is in heat she goes to a friend's house--and we bring the male when the progesterone level is 5 nanograms....then we breed twice. |

| I agree she may not be ready. What I thought were supposed to be the hot days for Gracie calender wise wasn't according to Cody. But, if he still does not mate with her after a few days have him checked, the first heat cycle that Gracie was ready to breed, Cody had gotten huimself so worked up before she was hot that he ended up with a prostate infection. We couldn't figure out why he would not mate with Gracie, it was very frustrating, till we found out why he wouldn't

| we had this same problem. We tried two different heat cycles. The male had no interest. We finally ended up taking them both to the vet and he artificially inseminated her. We just had babies on March 18th. Good luck |
