| Young studs. I didn't expect my girls to come in heat for another month and 2 months. One was swollen last Mon. and by Thurs. the other was coming in. Mr. Big is a little young, 8 months. I was wondering if any of the long time breeders run into the problem of a male of this age not being mature enough to do the job. I will let him try with my older female as she has a little experience and my other female I will breed to Mr. Big's father. Sylvia |

| Thanks, Karen. I want to try to have at least one litter. Actually, if one of them has 4, I won't complain if the other misses this heat. LOL I have another female who hasn't come in heat her first time and I'm worried she's not ready but may be triggered by the other two. Sylvia |

| I would use your most gentle female, you dont want him to have a bad encounter his first time. My male was 7 months his first time, he had no problems and produced 4 beatiful little yorkies. He has became quite the little stud dog. He has produced 30 litters and isnt going to be 3 until this oct. |

| I asked my vet about the age of the male and mating.... she said that the younger male pups could impregnate a female but the sperm really isn't mature until they are a year old.

Anyone know if a female doesn't bleed if that means she won't get pregnant? Lady bled a lot last time but I haven't seen any this time. Autumn is a few days behind her and started bleeding late yesterday afternoon. Sylvia | |

| LOL I've seen that one somewhere. That's so funny. Do you get a laugh out of the girls owners when you get there and they see the shirt? Sylvia |

| Just a little update. Looks like Mr. Big isn't ready yet. I was depending on my older male to tell me when the girls were ready to be bred and now he has gone insane so at least Lady is ready and Mr. Big isn't interested. I thought he was ready because he's been practicing and his RR got to breathe the air at least once that I know of, but he just isn't mature enough at 8 months. Aaaah, wellll, maybe when Lacijo comes in. Thanks for everyone's advice. Sylvia |

| Young or immature males might not be interested in mating a female before she is fertile.. Sometimes all of a sudden a male will go nuts and then stop. Nature tells theirlittle noses far more than our calendars, tests and plans.. Let us know if you prove that boy. He does have both testicles, right? If everything is there. then he just mightbe a bit immature now. |

| Hi, Rini, yes, he has both danglies. And you were right he started showing a lot of interest as she was more ready. He couldn't do anything this time but when Lacijo comes in and she is more his size, I figure we won't be able to hold him back once he gets a taste of what he's supposed to do. I probably made a huge mistake, I hope not, I let Pirogue get Lady. I took Autumn over to Mr. Big's father and will take her back again tomorrow. We know Rip got Autumn once and she stayed in the pen with him overnight so we are hopeful for a litter from her. She wants to be a mommy so, so, so bad. If both girls have babies they should start labor a day apart. Wish us easy whelping. Sylvia |
