| pre-breeding tests Where do ya'll get your pre-breeding tests done? I'm nowhere close to breeding, BUT I was calling around to see who does the bile acid test and I get this response "a bile what?--hold on let me ask the vet"....then they come back on and say "we dont do those" and "its not necessary for breeding". Im talking about full-service animal hospitals. What gives?? Am I barking up the wrong tree here? no pun intended hahaha |

| Your regular vet should be able to do it. It is just a blood test sent to a lab like Idexx...not a big deal. So they won't do a bile acids test if a Yorkie pup comes in seizing? No it is not "necessary" for breeding...neither are blood panels, thyroid panels, knee, hip, eye and ear checks but it is best for the dogs involved. I can't believe so many places won't do it by you.
