| Urgent - need help from breeders Okay, I tried to find a previous thread, but the search isn't working. I have 1 day old puppy that is gaining weight but crying a lot. I gave it some of the baby gas drops, tried to stimulate it to potty, and it's still crying. I made sure that it was warm. I also gave it a little formula hoping that it was just hungry. Contacted the vet and they said that I couldn't do any more than I was doing b/c there are no medicines that they could give her since she was so young. When stimulating all she did was pee. I think that she might be constipated. Is there any suggestions that I can do to help this little girl out? Thanks in advance for the advice. |

| She is trying to, but is in the same boat that I am in. She hasn't latched on to nurse since this morning. Her belly is plump, that's why I thought that it was just gas. |

| I've heard that a drop of white corn syrup can relieve constipation in newborns, but I truly don't know how true that is. Maybe a warm wash cloth on the puppy's belly?

| She has been crying off & on all day. She cries before & after. She's not wanting to latch on when I try to get her to. She did get some of the formula in her, but was really acting like she wasn't interested. I did rub her bum area and tried to get her to go that way. Her temp is 99.7 and a little poo came out with it. She's still whining but not as much. She did pee quite a bit when I stimulated her, but not #2. |

| She just went poo. I stimulated her enough for that to happen. Hopefully, it's just gas. She goes to the vet on Wednesday, as they all do for the declaw & tails to be removed. She's just trying to get comfortable. Temp in the welping box is 85. |

She latched on yesterday with no problem, also again this morning with no problem. She ate when I gave her a little formula. She did go poo, just a minute ago. So you are correct that I gave her formula, she went poo, and now is not crying as much. Maybe taking her temp helped her. | |

| when mine are that little they are on a heating pad that the temp is around 100 degrees. i have never used a heating lamp, not sure if that is warm enough. but her temp should be a little higher. i am more concerend about her not eating much today. at that age they need to eat alot of time during the day. i swear mine nurse all the time at that age. the fact that she has only ate twice is worrisome to me. do you have nutri drops?
