| Question??? How old does a male have to be before he can... well, make pups. Harley is 7 1/2 months and She-ra, 3yrs... she came into heat and they have locked up I know around 5 times so far?? Can we have pups? Or is he too young?? I know he isn't wasting his time , but should I get my hopes up???

| Hey girl!!! How are you doing? Sorry, don't know a thing about breeding but I know someone will answer that for you. So how do you like the new house? How's the furbabies? And Tim's new job? Full of questions, aren't I? You should be on more and then I would know. (JK)

| I'm sure something happened with 5 tries but I'm no expert. Take her for a blood test if it's been a couple of weeks. |

| It is up to your male if he is really ready or not. He may not be fully mature at 7 1/2 months. A vet can check a sample of his stuff and and see if they are active yet or you can play the waiting game. I know our Gizmo was not ready until he was a year old. He did the deed, but nothing came from it. We did the test and once it was good to go we bred again. Now he is a 1 1/2 years old and has two litters of pups. The GREAT news is even if your guy wasn't fully mature yet he at least knew what he was doing. A lot of males need help from the breeders for this. So good luck and keep your fingers crossed You can also get an ultrasound later and see if the vet hears any heartbeats..I hope I helped!

| She-ra's your options are ultrasound, detecting fetal heartbeats at around the 25th day from first breeding but wont tell you the litter count a blood test can be done about 23 days (mid gestation) which is the same time that your vet can palpate the fetuses. experienced vets can tell a pregnancy by simply feeling the abdomen at about 20-30 days after conception and a some what accurate litter count. an xray after about 50 days where you can get a litter count as well hope this helps

| I know with her first pregnancy, her nipples started swelling, and she had a few accidents, that's when I figured it out. We had bred her to a male a girlfriend of mine had, but the pup died, he got stuck during birth, and I couldn't do anything...RIP.. I am going to watch her so close this time!!! I later found out that my friend's male was diagnosed with a pancreatic condition, that would've passed on. I guess God knew what he was doing !!

| Amanda, I am so envious!! I have two females in heat and my little male will be 8 months on the 8th. He seems to be practicing but I'm not sure he know what to do.......yet. One female is futher in heat than the other but when we penned them away from everyone else all he did was cry and try to get out. I mean they are right here in the room but still penned up. I think I will take him to the vet like was suggested. Better to know now than to be dissappointed after waiting and losing the opportunity. LOL funniest thing is both girls want my neutered old, old, old Pom. I have a 10 1/2#, 16 month old Yorkie male but they don't want him. I just have to keep him away from them, cause HE does want THEM! LOL Sylvia |

| Oh, that is too funny!!! Im sure your old Pom wishes he was a pup again!!! I didn't think Harley would know what to do, until I walked outside to let them in, and BAM, shocked me good!!!

| We're in the same boat. Is she pregnant? My boy was 10 1/2 months at the time he locked with my girl. I find out Saturday but she has a lot of signs. |
