| Breeding Hello All, My Bella is in heat and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is the best day to breed her? She is really swollen and I just started to see blood on Sunday. Do you start counting the frist day when you see the blood? This is her third heat and I would like to breed her. Thank you for your help. Barb |

| I just start introducing the female to the male on the 9th day from when I first notice them bleeding. Some will accept a male then and others might not be ready until the 11th day or a little later. Usually once the bleeding turns light pink or stops all together, the female will start flagging and will be ready. Some females are shy breeders and get scared when the male mounts them. They all act differently. I always hold the female while the male mounts her. |

No Longer a Member | Yes, around the 13th day Lexi will flagg Romeo and he don't mess around he gets the job done. Lexi is a real passive and shy dog but not to mating.Well on her 1st heat she really was confused and let romeo take the lead; and it was his first time also. But now that it is the 2nd heat to breed they both know what to do and Romeo will not try to mount her until she lets him know . We just had our 2nd litter with lexi which is 6lbs. She had 5 the 1st time and 4 this time. They are so cute.... |
