| female mixed signals I found someone who wanted to use my boy as a stud and she let her female stay at my house today. She said she was on her 8th day and when mochi and lola met, lola kept flagging him and mochi would try to mount her constantly but then she would bark at him or freak out. Now she seems like she's getting frustrated at flagging mochi because he ignores her. He just tried to mount her again after she was getting rough with the flagging, but again, she barked at him and freaked out. I read somewhere that you should hold them in place and i tried to hold lola in place but she bit me ... is this normal?

| Try throwing a towel over her before you hold her in place. If she's flagging, her butt is say "yes..yes", but her head is saying "no...no" (as in I don't know you)! |

| thank you, i will try that... but it seems like mochi is too scared to even try to mount her anymore. i'll try it tomorrow, after they spend the night away from each other... i just feel bad when she cries or barks, it seems so wrong

| when they are ready, will the female be more relaxed and just "let" the male mount her, or will she always be resistent and i'll have to hold her down?

As for the girl, She many not be ready. I took my female on day 8 and she was flagging but when he got umm to close it caused pain and she jumped away and growled. 2 days later she stood for him, backing up into him and lowering herself a little for his height. My other girls are the same way. It sounds to me like the girl is getting ready but not quite there yet. Give her a little time. Last edited by LittlePaws; 01-22-2009 at 11:14 AM. | |

| Your welocme. I am glad I could help in some way. By the way. Sometimes the girls flip out when they tie. Make sure you hold her still and calm or both if them could be hurt. |

| i tried to put them together again today and my male won't even attempt to mount her. is it possible that she had scared him away? or is it just that my male knows she isnt ready yet? the female is going crazy with the flagging and now my male will just ignore her. sometims it looks like he bites her because he's irritated... should i lose hope? when he used to try to mount her, she would either squeal or twitch and that would scare my male right off of her.
