| Were you surprised when your yorkie delivered? Just wondering about experiences of others if perhaps you really didn't think your female was PG or if she whelped early...please share! |

| I was wondering really about premature births or dogs that whelped even when you couldn't really tell they were PG--this going along with my current "is she or isn't she" theme. She has just the slightest belly pooch. I have been able to express a tiny amount of milk though, which is what made me think maybe I should not have written off pups. I think false PGs often cause milk, so it us up in the air. My husband, positive she is not showing, does not want me to go throwing away money at the vet. So there we are! |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Ok, the question is a little different now. Do you have reason to believe your dog tied with a male? How do you have this information? How long ago did the tie occur? Is your dog gaining weight? Vomitting? Nipples more prominent? |

| further comment and pix Well, I thought I'd counted out exactly 63 days on the calendar, but when I did a doggie due date calendar online today it had her whelping date on Friday, IF she took from the first tie. Below are the pix. What do you think? I am trying to get in this week for an xray. Thanks. |

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | It's hard to tell from those pictures. I would definately have the x-rays done to be sure. My Gellica whelped on day 58 -- and this was after our vet told us on day 42 that she wasn't pregnant! She had all the signs though, so we just kept watching her. Is she eating more than normal?

| Last week I took Mia to the Vet on what I thought was her 62 day only because she was vomiting and had diarrhea. She had all the signs of being pregnant, including the big belly, at about a week before she looked like she wasn't getting any bigger. The Vet did an xray and it showed she was not pregnant and never was, I was so surprised. He thought the vomiting and diarrhea was from false pregnancy and the next day thought it might have been some type of bug. Now my other dog Layla had an xray today at day 61 and she is pregnant, but didn't show until day 55. I am glad I took both to the Vet, now I know for sure about both of them. Plus, Layla has 1 breach puppy so I'm more prepared. You should take her to get an xray, than you'll know if she is or not, and you won't have to worry anymore. I think the Vet bill is worth its weight in gold. Good Luck and keep us posted!! |
