| Is there anything I can get for her teats? Halle's puppies will be 2 wks old Sunday. She has been a great MOM but today she has stayed away from them alot, I'm wondering if her teats might be sore they are fat puppies the biggest is 10 ozs and the smallest is 81/2 ozs. At birth they were from 4oz to 6oz. She has a mark like a scratch beside one of her teats. Also I picked her up last night and she cried like I hurt her. Is there anything I can get to maybe put on her that of course won't harm the babies to make her feel better? Thanks Paula |

| Also I didn't mean to imply that them being fat would make this happen, but maybe their teeth? Paula |

YT 1000 Club Member | Paula, Can you take a pic of her and post it. That may help in figuring out what is wrong. With Maggies first litter some of her teats started tolook like cottage cheese under the skin. Vet told me to get a hot water bottle and fill it up with hot water, grab a towel and keep it on them. Then when it was feeding time for the pups to put them on those teats. It could be a few different things and I am sure that if someone sees it that has gone through the same thing they could tell you what they did. What it is and if they went to the vet and what the vet told them. Maggie is only having 1 pup. they missed it on the 1st xray because it was up under her ribcage.

| I agree with YorkieAZ... it's probably the pup's nails not the teeth (I doubt they have any)... that is causing the irritation on mom.

| Actually no I have not cut their nails. They're so wiggly I'm afraid I might hurt them. I thought that they probably had no teeth yet but then again I haven't had my fingers in their lil mouths yet Thanks guys! Paula |

| It's easy to do, just take your time and clip just the little hook that you will feel. Be sure to have some quick stop with you in case of bleeding, which I have rarely had. |
