| Question for experienced breeders Have you ever had a bitch flag and stand for a stud and yet she not be in an obvious heat. She has started "humping" will stand and flag for the male dogs, and both my stud dogs are attempting to mount.which I have never seen them do for a female thats not in heat. She has no typical symptoms like vulva swelling, bleeding and has just gone through a heat in the begining of August. What could this be?

| My guess would be that she is either just being playful or she might be getting ready to have a split heat and she may be coming in heat again. Just keep a close eye on her. |

| Interesting.... so would she again show typical signs of heat... bleeding, swelling? Or how would you know otherwise aside from obvious interest....? |

| I have found that with my females sometimes a week or two before they actually come in heat they start acting frisky and humping each other. With a split heat they would start showing all the signs of a regular heat. I have never experience a split heat or a silent heat but I know they can occur. There have been several threads on YT about the split heats. |
