| Molly's Hind Teats - Engorged Hi all - thanks in advance for any input. Before Molly had her pups (first for both of us) I noticed that she had an uneven number of nipples on each side - and some really tiny almost mole looking ones down at the bottom on each side closest to her back legs. I thought at the time that maybe they were nipples that never fully developed. Anyway, fast forward to three days after pupps, the back is REALLY swollen - pink, not red and not hot. I kept latching the pupps on her "normal" sized back nipples to try and relieve the engorgement - no luck - I just noticed that milk is oozing out of those tiny little mole nipples - they are too small for a pup to latch onto - and I don't think that just two of them can dry up - not sure what to do??? Do the sets of nipples share milk - or do they each have their own gland system. Any ideas? |

| They each have their own milk pouch. Try extracting the milk into something by hand to give to the pups. If that doesn't work, I'd take her to the Vet. Sometimes they get infections and can't nurse. If that happens you will need to feed the pups yourself. Most pet supply stores sell bitches milk.
