Yorkie Talker | when will my puppies be born My yorkie Missy is 64 days pregnant and still showing no signs of having her babies. Today she left most of her breakfast, keeps going to her whelping box but is not nesting and is just lying aroung sleeping. Yesterday i noticed some clear snotty discharge after she had been for a pee, is this her mucus plug coming away? |

| Is it possbile that you misjudged her due date? You should have been counting from the first tie, but if she didn't actually take until a tie in the days following, then she is right on time. From the behavior you described--loss of the plug, sticking to her whelping box and a change in her eating, it sounds like it is getting close. Monitor her closely and make sure that her whelping box is in a private, calm area. I'm not sure what you are feeding her now, but she will need plenty of energy for whelp. Try maybe hand feeding her some boiled chicken or something. Good luck! |

Yorkie Talker | hi thanks for your replies. I haven't been checking her temps but I do know I have the correct date. She was tied on the 15/07/2008 so she was due the 16/09/2008. I am feeding her a good quality puppy food as advised by my vet. She did scratch at her blankets this afternoon but then walked away and went to sleep on the sofa!! hopefully it will be soon. |
