| Sick pup. I bought a pup & he kept having loose stools off & on. Well the vet found he had Giardia & put him on Flygal (sp?) & he is doing good now. Has anyone had experince with this Giardia & will he have any ill effects over having it?

| Thank goodness I haven't ever had to deal with it. I don't think there are any long term effects from it though. Hope he feels better real soon!

| Thanks to Recons & Lily's, I will check out these links. It's great to have help & advice so quickly at hand with YT. He is doing good now but gave me a scare for a day or two cause he is not quite 2 lbs at 4 & 1/2 months & go's 9-0 most all the time.

| My puppy came home with coccidia, which is similar to Giardia. The vet gave her Flagyl (sp?) and she has done wonderfully! Until his tummy settles, you should feed him boiled chicken & boiled rice. When he's feeling better, slowly incorporate his normal puppy food in with the chicken/rice. He should be doing better sooN! |

P.s. I also had to have my children put on the Flagyl for Giardia because they were handling the puppy and had also contracted it through the pup. Good Luck, Audrey | |
