Hero Hero is 13 weeks old and only one testicle has dropped. Is it still to early to worry? I wanted to take him to confromation class. They have one near here for puppies that are at least 5 months old. So I have some time, but I think he has to have both testicles to show him?

| I am definetely no expert, but I think that it can take up to 8 mths for them to both drop. I took my pup in last week to be neutered and he was cryptoid, one did not drop, and he was 10 mths. The vet said it probably wasn't going to drop, and it was possibly hereditary and could be passed on through him if I had decided to breed him, (which was never going to happen anyhow.) But I think it is to early for your pup, he still has time.

Yes, it's still too early to panick. I have a little guy who didn't drop his first until 13 months, his second at 16 months. From what I can tell, the smaller males sometimes have a tendancy to drop later (or not at all). Not sure how big your little one is, but it's something to consider. Don't fret just yet.

Well. That's a relief. I wasn't sure, as with any other male puppies I've had, both were descended by this age, including Caesar, who only weighs 3 1/2 lbs. Hero is small. He weighs just over 2 lbs. I'm hoping he will make 4 lbs, but I'm beginning to think it's not going to happen. His father is Caesar, who, as I said, is 3 1/2 lbs, but mom, Cookie, is almost 7. Hero is the only puppy they've had together, but she was pregnant when I got her and all those puppies were bigger. Ciara's and Caesar's puppies were bigger, too. Thank you. This does male me feel better.

testicle Can you feel the other one at all?? You might have the vet check to see if its there. It should at least be there somewhere. He will need both for conformation.

I could only feel one so I asked the vet and he could only feel one. He said he was still young, but he looked sceptical(sp).
