| Litter Size Question I am so excited because my little Lily is expecting a litter of pups on June 29th! Her first litter she carried 2 pups. I did not have an x-ray done this time around to see how many she was carrying. We bred her with the same male the second time. Do most Yorkies that have small litters usually have small litters with subsequent breeding?

| Not necessarily. I had a female once that had 1 pup her first litter and 6 her second litter. Another female had 1 her first litter and 3 her second litter. Other females have been more consistent so you really never know. I wish you well with your upcoming litter. |

| Some do and some dont. I have had a bitch have a litter of 5 the first time and then only have 2 the second time and with the same stud. I do recommend an x-ray about 5 days before delivery. That way you will know for sure how many and the vet can guesstimate if there is a potential problem. |

| We decided that we are going to take Lily in for an x-ray this week. She is only 4 1/2 lbs and we want to make sure that the pup/s are all small too.
