| Advice Please!! I had this posted in another forum but after talking to a sweet person she advised I put it in here.... I should add that the male is 10 months old. Last week a friends came over to visit with their male yorkie. They come often and the babies all play and have a good time. Well, we were eating dinner, boiled crawfish, and we heard one yelp...well it was Charlie, (friends male) he and Jolie were locked! We had no clue that she was in heat! She just had puppies in Feburary and I had been checking her to see if she bleeding but nothing. Well, today I noticed she was because I put a panty on her(only a few spots). It isn't much....I am sure she is going to have another litter. We did not want to breed her again until a year or two. I am so bummed cuz of this. I hope and pray all goes well if she ends up preggo. Now it is the waiting game. Not fun. Oh well....thanks for letting me get this off my chest. __________________ Jolie'' & Candace This is what someone posted in response to my post Not a Happy Camper... PM #4 Woogie Man YT Addict Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Mississippi Posts: 317 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Females can be bred in successive heats but it all depends on the mother and how stressful her prior litter was on her and how well she's bounced back from it. No female, in any case, should be bred on more than two successive heats though without a well deserved rest. You can't un-do what's been done but just makes sure she gets gets a high quality diet. I would also have her on a multi-vitamin and lately I've become a big fan of using flaxseed oil as a supplement. It's mostly known as being great for the skin and coat but has many other health benefits and is a very safe supplement.

| How did your female do with her last litter? Did she have any problems? How old is she? As long as she is healthy then I see no problem with her having pups again. It is just too bad it was not a planned breeding and I don't know if the little super stud is the quality you wanted to breed to. It is possible that the breeding will not take if she was early in her heat cycle and maybe be male was not producing sperm yet. You will just have to feed her a normal quality diet and pray for the best. |

Charlie, the stud, weighs 4lbs...he is healthy and has a great temperment. He seems to be an awesome yorkie. I would have picked him, just not now...later. He is a True lapdog. Through all of this I just want my baby to be ok and the puppies too? How old does a male have to be to be a good stud? Sperm Count etc?? Thanks for your help!! You are greatly appreciated!!!

| Ten month is old enough to make babies. Some males mature sooner than others. Your girl should be just fine. I can't think of anything you should be worried about. Just keep us posted on how she is doing. Just go ahead and treat her like she is pregnant, you know the routine. I wish you the best. |
