| I noticed your name is Texas teacups. You do know there is no such thing as a teacup and it was made up by bad breeders. If that is the name of your breeding I would look at changing it so you are not automatically associated as a bad breeder. I also hope your not breeding for tiny pups. Honestly you should only be breeding dogs that are not with a color fault like not chocolates or Golden’s.

| I looked at what I’m guessing is your website and it looks like you are trying to sell teacups which don’t exist which is a shame you are taking people for their money and breeding under size dogs to get tiny dogs you can sell for ridiculous amounts of money. Whether you asked for my opinion or not I am going to give it because I have a HUGE issue with bad breeders! That is what is destroying the breed most of us here love so much.

| And not breeding dog with color faults? Partis are gorgeous and agencies recognize them as purebred and not "faulty" so why can't you? If you don't own one, you can't really judge those that do. I personally do not want a traditional. I enjoy the variety and beauty my partis have. They are just as good as your dogs and for you to think they aren't, maybe you don't have a love for all Yorkies like you should. How dare you comment useless information like you are someone and judge me on my choice in dogs. And I could care less if you don't like my name. Go police the others who use the word teacup...but I'm sure if you Did they could care less too. I don't breed for size, but all my babies chart to be 3 pounds. If that isn't a teacup, what is. In my eyes if an adult weighs 2 pounds or 3 pounds like mine...they are teacups. Now that that's settled, enjoy your traditional colors, and know that all Yorkies are BEAUTIFUL no matter their color. And if they are different colors they are no less that yours. I'm a brunette, and I couldn't imagine saying blondes were not worthy to produce offspring because they aren't brunette..but that's what you just said about my babies and everyone else who enjoys the color variations. Hmm #allyorkiesmatter anyone? |

| Anyone that knows the yorkie breed knows there is one kind of yorkie, and that is a "standard" yorkie whose weight should be no more the 7 pounds, a toy breed, not like poodles where you have teacup, toy, mini and standard. If your pups are 3 pounds they are yorkies, not "teacup". And please loose the attitude, this is not FB or craigslist. This is a respectful community forum were respect is given, and opinions are given Whether you asked for them or not. "If" you are a breeder you should know the correct term is yorkie, not "teacup" even if that is what "your eyes see" . By using the term teacup you are suggesting you breed for smaller then standard yorkies which ethical breeders do not breed for. That is my opinion which I am entitled to.

| There is a Texas teacups website so I would find it hard not to think that is yours if not you might be infringing on another breeder if that is your breeding name.

| Most reputable breeders price their pups by how closely they meet the AKC/YTCA standard for the breed. They generally advertise their pups by weight as there is no other standard than “under 7 pounds”. Color, stature, weight are all determined by the “standard for the breed”. Pups that are “off standard” are price accordingly. The general rule (by reputable breeders) is that any female under 5 pounds is a great risk to breed and therefore is a risk to the life of the bitch and puppies, and is not considered an ethical action. Breeders that have pups that vary greatly from the standard will not give breeding rights as the ultimate goal is to improve the breed with every litter, not to make money, and not to perpetuate an unsatisfactory trait be it off color, size or health risk. In this day and age most reputable breeders will give a buyer a copy of the DNA and lab tests as well as a health agreement at the time of the sale. Again, the goal is to improve the breed in every way! The pups you see in the shows are examples of those standards. We are constantly trying to educate the public so that the breed is healthy and good examples of the breed. You will see very good breeders looking toward darker colors that fall within the standard because that is what they like the most — I have heard judges do on and on about varying colors as well. I got my Yorkie who always being shown, and doing quite well, because the experience breeder could tell she was going to be too small to breed, although her coat and top line etc were wonderful.
