| temperature has dropped - sure sign? I am the poster who posted last Wednesday, thinking Kiwi reabsorbed her puppies. Then it turned out she hadn't, but was having a singleton. This is her first breeding and mine. Her temperature has dropped from 100.2 yesterday to 99.6 earlier this evening to just now 98.2, and there was some kind of dried, crusty stuff (kind dark and yellow mixed in color) on her that I think might be her mucous plug. I also think she may be peeing more. Is the drop in temperature a sure indication that the puppies will arrive within the next 12 -24 hours or is that not always the case. She's not showing any other signs of labor - no panting, no restlessness, her appetite is still good. I'm getting nervous here.... |

| 98.2 sure sounds like a prewhelping temp...just try to stay calm for her. Watch her mannerisms. When she starts panting and digging furiously, she's probably ready. Good luck! |

| Oh, I'm no help. But I'm so happy that you are still having a puppy! There are so many puppy-lovers here. And even more importantly, there are a lot of puppy-experts here!! Make sure to keep us posted!! We have a nursery forum, but I think we need a new forum - "THE WAITING ROOM".

| Oh - I forgot to tell you all....Kiwi sleeps in the bed with us, and last night, as she was falling asleep and all cuddled into me, I felt the puppy moving around like crazy! It was SO neat! I would push on it and then it would kick me back. It was moving all around. Absouletly amazing to think that little peanut is in there! |
