Breny, I am so sorry that you had to go through that. I know it is never easy when this happens. I hope you and Meiah both pull through this. Like you said no matter how much you read or research you are never really prepared when it happens. I just hope that the people out there who decide they just want their dogs to experience motherhood or because they want another one. Whatever the reasoning they really should think about and read the posts of all the things that can go wrong. And then ask themselves am I willing to risk the life of my female, her pups, all the emotional feeling that you go through when something you can't control happens. Big hugs to you.

I know what you mean... We are never prepared for such a loss.
I know so may have said they are truly sorry for what you, your family and Meiah have gone through. But I just wanted to tell you that heart goes out to all of you.
Our prayers are with you and your family. Your little loved ones have joined all the wonderful loving babies that have moved on to the rainbow bridge. My Little Miss has left me and joined the rest at Rainbow Bridge 2 1/2 yrs ago. She was such a good little mamma, I know she is watching out for all the little babies that has joined her.

Meiah did have her BABIES, yes, the singleton turned out to be a litter of two.

I lost them both

The first one was pretty big. Meiah is normally about 4 3/4 lbs. This baby was almost 6 oz. Her last pups have been 4 oz. She came breach. But her head was stuck in the canal. The sak broke as well. I was running out of time and had to pull the pup (it was stuck hard) but it was too late.
Devistated me. Went out side to recoup, came back in within minutes, and she had delivered another. This was a boy....real tiny....only 2 3/4 oz.

He was gasping and I worked on him and worked on him. Then upon inspection in his mouth, he had a cleft pallet. A pretty good one that ran all the way from his hard pallet thru to his soft pallet. If I could have got him going I would have doen ANYTHING to keep keep him alive, just like a did my Chi Tia, but I lost him

I know we go into this expecting the unexpected but I didn't expect this. My poor Meiah.

I bond with the babies before they are born, talking with them, feeling them...and then this.

This is my first time losing a pup, let alone the whole litter. I've told myself going into this that it would be a possibility, but didn't expect it to hit me so hard.

Breeding is not to be taken likely. I hope anyone thinking about breeding really does their homework. But all the books you read, all the videos you watch, can never really prepare you for what can happen, until your right there, living it.

ooooh, I am so sorry to hear of your and Meiah's loss and all of your pain. I too have never lost one and dread the day it happens. My MIL has lost litters....it is absolutely heartbreaking. My heart is going out to you and Meiah, please know that.

I am so sorry Breny. Having recently lost two of mine, I know exactly what you are feeling. I thought I was going to lose all five of mine. it is so hard. When I lost my last one, a girl, I sat and held her wrapped in a warm washcloth and cried like a baby for the longest time. My hubby finally took her out of my arms. I remember telling her over and over how sorry I was. It hurts so bad and being a breeder is very hard at times.
