| Brazilian yorkies A breeder I bought one of my puppies from is out of the breeding business and is now just importing puppies from Brazil and then selling them for a big profit. She tells me that the Brazilian yorkies are much cuter -- teddy bear face and small in size -- is this true -- why would yorkies from Brazil look any different than yorkies anywhere else??? |

| I'm sorry but I find that totally ridiculous. A pure bred yorkie is going to have the same traits whether it's from Brazil, Canada etc...sounds like a sales pitch to me. |

| i don't know if they are cuter but I really like the looks of the Brazilian dogs. Just something about them that I can't put my fingers on. I look on PuppyFind all the time just to see if there is anything I like and nearly always when I click to an ad, it will be a Brazilian dog. problem is, I can't afford one. |

| I met a Yorkie from Brazil last summer in Philadelphia and she was so gorgeous. Just incredibly beautiful. I don't know if it had anything to do with her being from Brazil, but I certainly liked that Yorkie.

| I've seen Yorkies from Brazil and they really are beautiful. The problem with importing and selling them here is that it's brokers that do this and you do not know for sure that these pups are not coming from puppymills. I can tell you that if she's making a huge profit on them then they more then likely are coming from mills. Importing pups seems to be the big thing that not only brokers are doing but petstores. I've said this before but I'll say it again, that these brokers all have the same story and that is that they have family in Brazil or whatever country the pups are coming from and that their family breed them and send them here for good homes. It's really a crock of bs. They get the dogs cheap from overseas and like you said make a big profit. Oh and please don't think that I'm saying that every dog bought from Brazil is from a puppymill. This is not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is those imported and resold here are more then likely from a puppymill. I do not know of any reputable breeders who 1. would breed and send their pups over seas to brokers to sell for a profit (or) 2. Breed on the scale they would need to breed on in order to supply the petstore or broker with enough pups to keep their business thriving. They would have to breed MANY to be able to send the shipments I've seen coming in to atleast one broker who sells from overseas. That to me is not someone reputable and to be able to breed on that kind of scale they have to have a small commercial breeding farm in order to do that. Elaine |

I found a woman to help me get my papers.. and while at it.. she checked out where my girl came from.. a single parent.. that is hooked up with a canadian that is brazilian born.. she gets free yorkies to keep or sell.. and triples the price of what the breeder would get selling them in brazil... the woman I met is also a small breeder with two young children.. she did a lot for me.. I found her on the internet after I was told they wanted more then my 2,200. if I wanted her papers.. so right away I went to the internet and found this breeder.. send her an email with what happened and my phone number.. this was at 8 p,m and at 8 a.m when I was getting up the phone was ringing long distance.. it was this breeder calling me from brazil.. saying I want to help you.. for it is people like this that gives brazilian breeders a bad wrap and bad name.. she did this for me.. phoning me on her coin.. I felt I had an angel on my shoulders.. and what she did prior to breeding and having her won children.. she was a missionary.. so I felt I had an angel on my shoulders...anne | |
