Still no pups Her last litter, she only had 2 pups and she delivered a couple days early. This litter we used a different stud and she's bigger. Do they stay pregnant longer with bigger litters?

Take a look at the Allie's Puppies/April Puppies thread and you'll see we are all wondering the same thing. When are the puppies coming????

Good luck. Ruby is still waiting here too. She was due 4/17.

Thanks!! Sassy due date is Apr 23rd. So we're still ok. Im really hoping she has them tonight because my boss is out of town...LOL! We're soo worried about her. I just noticed that the stud's pedigree has line breeding in it. What are your thoughts on that? I was hoping to keep one, but then I saw that and Im a little freaked out. Thanks! :-)

That certainly can be a symptom of labor. What is her temperature? My girls usually stop eating the day they are going to deliver. Best of luck with her!

They all seem to be different. Ruby had breakfast, went potty an unusual # of times and then had 7 puppies. You just never know.

Good luck Sassy.

Linebreeding should only be a problem if the dog that is being doubled up is unworthy of it. If he or she is a champion in excellent health from a line that is free of issues and are good representations of the breed than doubling up on such a quality dog would bring excellent qualities to their progeny. You need to do some research and check out the ancester that was doubled up and check out his line as well.

Thank you!! That makes me feel better. I'll do more research on his ancesters. Do you know of any good sites to look up pedigrees? I know AKC lets you, but they charge too.

Sassy still doesn't have puppies! Today is her due date. But, February 20th was the first time she connected. February 24th was the last time she connected. I know this may sound like a dumb question, but can dogs not ever go into labor? It just seems like she was sooo close to going into labor and still nothing. Thanks!

That happened with Ruby. I was sure she was going into labor and then it took another week to have the puppies. Remember the eggs can be fertilized up to 3 days after the last tie. Good luck, I know how hard waiting is.

Thanks! Im hoping she has them soon. She's acting totally normal though, so I don't think there is anything wrong with her.

Lilly didn't show me a single sign... she ate that morning she was acting completely normal.. the next thing I knew she dug once at her blankets and whimpered... her water sack was hanging out

Nope, no pups yet. She slept under our bed last night. We usually make her sleep in her whelping box, but she was so tired. We took her for a short walk last night too. She's acting totally normal though, strange! Maybe tonight? LOL
