| This belongs in breeder but ...... I need a answer kinda quick and the breeder section has less people. On sunday I opened my front door and there on the front door mat was a small dog sleeping. It was a rat terrier. Ive asked around and cant find owners, so I asked the neighbors if they want to keep her while we look for the owners more, I cant keep her since I have 3 dogs and housing rules say 3 is the limit. Weve got a few worries about her that Im hoping someone here can help. Her girly business is swollen and her nipples are large. She IS NOT in heat and is not leaking anything but she is eating like there is no tomorrow. Can she be pregnant? Maybe she recently had babies and hasnt gotten back to normal? Please help me do right by this little girl. |

| Have you called all the Vets in your area? She may very well be pregnant, so I would take her in to your Vet to find out. In the meantime, feed her a high quality food. Bless your heart for helping her. Sheila |

| What kind of condition is she in? Does she look neglected or lost? |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | If she just had babies she would have milk. Is she full of milk? |

| Shes pretty skinny and was full of fleas but was obviously a pet at one time. She has the dock tail but her nails were really long and her teeth were a mess. We brushed her teeth and are feeding her canned food and my Dick Van Patten duck and potato food. She has a hard time eating with her teeth. She sleeps aside of the neighbors bed and is a real lover. The neighbor may not want to get rid of her if we dont find the owner, shes falling in love. |

| Thank God you found her and your neighbor was willing to take her. I'd say good luck in your search for her owners but sounds like she already picked her new home! |

| If she has been so neglected, she may not have come from a good home. She may have been lost by escaping and then became infested with fleas and have long nails. If that is the case, it is different but what if it is the original owner who neglected her and don't really care whether she comes home or not? Maybe there is a possibility that she may be better off being with your neighbour.

Maybe but even cats or dogs who give birth outside...tend to their babies. She'd be asking to go outside
