I use those little colored rope/strings when they're first born, but I take them off after a few days when I can tell more about them. I always know who's who because I watch them like a hawk... Also, it's not good to leave strings or ribbons on too long, because they grow like weeds....

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I write detailed descriptions of the markings--and add to them as they grow and change. I have the colored velcro collars--but worry about them strangling so I have never used them. |

I have never put anything on mine to mark them. To dangerous. I also made descriptions and could always tell them apart.

I've only need to use something one time. I used differing color fingernail polish on their bottom (or hip, above tail). They stood right out, when I needed to watch a certain one according to their weight, I could always identify them (besides size) and be sure they're on first. this was especially helpful when they're all eating and rooting around Last edited by Susan123; 03-15-2008 at 05:02 AM.

Thank you..I have heard of several different ways but have always thought about the what ifs. I have put so much research into whelping..but now I think I am second guessing myself on the things I know, if that makes sense. I am so anxious, nervous, excited....
