| How small is small??? I don't really know how to word this... How do you guys judge a small puppy?? My girls came to me at 12 weeks old and one was 2lbs 8oz. and the other was 2lbs 12oz.. I'm going to pick up my little boy next week and he's only 1lb 6oz but he's going to be 12 weeks when I get him.. Do breeders consider that small? I mean.. I remember my smaller girl coming home and I was like WOW! but I really can't grasp my mind around how small he may be.. sorry if I don't make sense..

| To get a mental pic, think of it this way..... 1lb. = 4 sticks of butter.

| Wow! he sounds really tiny. Zoe was almost 3 lbs at that age, well I think 2lbs 10 ounces. And she was so tiny. Can't imagine how tiny he must be since he's about 1/2 her size then.... |

| Ryder was 15 ounces at 12 weeks, and Faith was about 1 lb, 10 ounces at 15 weeks. They're definitely tiny, but I never had any more problems out of them than I did with a standard sized baby. |

| Wow what a growth spirt!! Just goes to show that you really can't tell what size they are going to be when they grow up, you can only guess. If you had taken wagers some folks would have lost money on that one!

| Baci's mom just emailed me yesterday and he is 2 pounds at 5.5 months. Healthy as can be and very energenic!! Here is one of his baby pictures. Mom is 6 pounds and dad is pounds. So you really do not know forsure how big they will get. It is only a guess. Usually a rule of thumb is to double their weight at 12 weeks of age for what they might be as an adult. But this is just a guess - not always accurate! T. |

| I would double the weight at 4mths to be more accurate. I got my boy at 4mths and he was 2.2 the chart said 3lbs adult and he is exactly 4.4 and holding.although his body filled out he gained no more weight. (not a breeder just my 2cents)
