| Feeding before whelping Peanut is at 35 days and boy is she eating like a pig...Right now I am feeding her Royal Canin dry puppy food. (available for her all day). I feed her Chicken and Rice, natural balance wet food at night and a little cottage cheese in the morning. Does this sound okay. I feel like she isnt getting enough to eat. She keeps coming up to me like she is still hungry. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly welcomed. Frankie

| My little gal is about forty days . i leave dry food down all the time and she gets three to four wet meals a day. I won't give her the cottage cheese until a couple of days before she whelps. If then. it depends on the ddog. I usually wait until she whelps that to start the extra calcuim because of eclampsia. |

Well, it is a matter of opinion. Everyone has different ways of doing things. I have in the past started the cottage cgheese before whelping but it seems most breeders on here don't so I wait until she whelps or is almost ready. I don't think you have hurt your baby tho. They say it can cause an over supply of calcuim before birth, so it's six of one, seven of the other. | |
