My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | What is YOUR breeding style? I don't want this to turn into a debate as to what is right and what is wrong but am curious in what everyone else does. Do you breed your girls in a row (example 4 days straight) or do you skip days in between? I'm curious as to what different ways work for others. Might as well add in on what day (day 10, 11, 12 etc...) and for how many ties you allow them to have. Remember PLEASE - not a debate for what is right or wrong Thanks! |

| Well, I can't say it's a specific day...it's usually when they're ready (when it turns a lighter pink and they start flagging, etc. I just know. But it's USUALLY about day 10 or 11 for mine. Mine tie 3 times, and I skip one day in between. So for example if she bred the first time on her 11th day, then she would breed again on the 13th, and one last time on the 15th. |

| I leave it up to Connor to tell me when since the male can not only tell when the female has ovulated but when those eggs are mature and ready for fertilization. I breed once every other day, usually twice but occasionally 3 times if I feel we bred early in her cycle.

| I introduce the female to the male on the 9th day. If I get a tie then I skip two days, breed again, skip one day and breed again. If I don't get my first tie until the 10th or 11th day then I just bred every other day for a total of 3 breedings. |

| Mine usually breed on day 10 and I let them tie once a day for about 4 days in a row.I know Spike once got Trixie on day 8 and I think I skipped days. This has always worked for me.

| My boys knows when the bitch is ready and I breed when the bitch is ready and I breed on one day, one tie and the next day one tie. I NEVER SKIP a day because you just don't want to risk under developed puppies being born. |

| I have heard the female sperm live up to 5 days and the male sperm 3 days. I seem to have more female pups as a general rule so my theory is breed early so the female sperm have a better chance of getting there first when the eggs drop....hehe...I wish it was that simple. Seriously, even if you breed one time you can have the eggs fertilized up to 5 days later so you could still get a runt or less mature pup. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | So you don't think it depletes the males sperm and he needs a day to build it back up? |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I've done this as well, but have read that the males sperm needs a day to recoupe and was wondering if I should skip days. |
