| AKC Extended dog name fee? OK now this is really rubbing me the wrong way Why do they need $10.00 for an extended dog name fee? I swear they are always looking for more money aren't they? There is 36 spaces and if you go over that you are charged $10.00 and you can go up to 14 extra spaces (no more than 50 total) I just got a litter kit from one of my litters and I was shocked to see this new fee. Anyone else seen this? Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |

Everytime I get a litter reg, it is different from the last one. Prehaps if they would use the same form they could cut the costs instead of always changing them and raising the costs. And to think $10.00 for 14 letters Deana Prestigeous Yorkies

| I agree but.... I bet there are alot of people who use that 14 space and they know it and that is why they changed it... Wonder if the data entry folks got a raise

| when i was watching the akc / eukanuba dog show, every commercial for akc was to urge people to register their dog. and if you look at their site, their is a slide show and each photo is urging people to register for special rewards and privileges. i haven't recevied anything special from them????? it appears they are really trying to create revenue.

| Akc I have run over the spaces many times over the years...I just added the exact letters in the margin...AKc was very nice and never cut it shorter or never made me pay...well, from now on it will be the correct amount...that is too much ...anyway, I go for a short name now... |

| I haven't seen this extra fee, but I hadn't registered a new litter in a while. I should be receiving the registration kit that I have for my litter now any day. It just doesn't make sense!

| I would spend the $10 for a longer name or shorten my names before I would switch registries...AKC is not perfect...but imo the only one who holds a pedigree in the US that I trust.

It not just that $10 but the other $10 for that and $20 more here and I have heard $50 and $100 if your papers get messed up even if its their fault. Money Money Money, thats all I hear from AKC for the past 10 to 15 years. There are some good pedigree services besides AKC. The fact is it should be about the dog anyways and not about the registry they are with. If the dog is a good representative of its breed then it should not matter if its registered with any registry.

| Well, I haven't even seen it yet but I didn't know you could even go over the amount of blanks. I have had to shorten two of my names down from what I actually wanted because of lack of blanks. where do you write the extra letters? |
