| I don't know anything about breeding, but as I see there's no one else on here, thought I'd reply. From what I've seen on other posts, I think you should take her to a vet. I think one hour is too long between puppies. Is there an emergency vet near you? perhaps you could phone them.? I hope someone with more knowledge would come on to help you. I hope all goes well. | Is she is hard labor for over an hour? If so, that is bad....get to a vet asap! If not, it can take up to 2-3 hours for a pup to come... (If she is not in hard labor during this time....) Keep us posted... |

hit hard labor at all. she had the first pup and she cleaned him up really good and now she is letting him feed. no hard labor at all. just a little heavy breathing now and then but she seems really relaxed. i'll keep everyone posted.

I really have no idea.. I don't breed. You should probably call your emergency vet for guidance.. Let us know how it turns out and I hope someone w/more insight is around at this early hour.

Yes, it depends on her demeanor. It can take anything from about 15 minutes up to 2 to 3 hours before they produce the next one. If she's relaxed & licking or nursing her new baby, then she's mostly just resting before the onset of another one. However, if she's distressed in any way, panting, restless, trying to push...you can easily tell this, just feel gently on her tummy to see if she's staining, then she could be in trouble & you'll need the vet. if she is obviously straining, try to look at her vulva to see if there's a puppy emerging...there are things you can do to help it out sometimes that are quicker than getting the vet. i've just seen this, hope things are improving by now. If she's just resting, don't worry. I've had bitches that have popped out 6 or 7 puppies within two hours....every 15 minutes. Others have taken all night to birth 2 or 3.

Sorry, sounds like you were already posting your update whilst I was posting, so my advice was a bit superfluous. Glad everything is going ok now.
