YT 1000 Club Member | You have to kind of watch out about purposely breeding mix breeds. Many people are passionate about this breed and hate when people breed 'down.'.. But I'm pretty sure someone else will comment so I'll step away because I don't really know what I'm talking about! LOL |

You're not going to get very many positive responses here, when it comes to breeding mixes. I do disagree with you about the subject, but if you have to continue with your idea of breeding mixes your questions might be better answered on another forum or website, not Yorkietalk. I'm not trying to be rude, just honest.

| I bred my shih tzu with a poodle years ago...they were the cutest little things, my mom bought one, he just died last February at the age of 15 1/2, she said of all the dogs she's had in her life(and believe me, that's a lot of dogs), that he was the best..he was also a very healthy dog..you're going to find most people are down on mixed breeds, i say do what floats your boat..but, that's jmo.. |

| No forum should be just for one breed of dog..there are a lot of people on here with mixes and also purebreds of other kinds....It should be for all dog lovers..if she wants to breed a morkie, then she should be able to do so without everyone jumping down her throat.. |

Unless I've read something wrong, this section of the forum IS for discussion about breeding YORKIES. The quote below was taken directly from the header page of this section. QUOTE] The Breeder Talk Section! Why It Is Here I just wanted to post a reminder about why this section exists (or tell you for those that do not understand). It is for breeders (experienced and not) to share their experiences, learn from each other, help new members, and to have a place to talk about the lessons, joys, pain, heartache, and excitement of breeding yorkies!

| There are a lot of purebred yorkies that go to shelters too, not just mixed..and the thing is, most mixed dogs at the shelters are heinz 57, they have so many breeds in them you don't know what you're getting. |

| I agree...this is why I get so upset about bad breeding of both mixes and purebreds. There are too many dogs being neglected, abused, abandoned, and euthanized in shelteres every day....purebreds and mixes. If someone isn't breeding to better the breed, they don't need to be breeding. Everytime a backyard breeder sells puppies, more dogs are put to sleep in shelters. Millions of dogs die each year..MILLIONS!...how can anyone feel justified to contribute to that?

YT Addict | I totally agree. We don't need people just deciding to breed their dogs for fun... There is no reason for it!
