My grandaughter has a Maltese that usually has 4 or 5 puppies, but there's always one or two from the litter that doesn't make it. So she wants to try my smaller male Yorkie with her female Maltese, because she likes the breed combination and hopes that all the puppies will survive if they are smaller. Good Luck with your puppies?
Sorry, but, it's not always the mom being the maltese and dad yorkie, it can be turned around too..

There are way too many Yorkie mixes in shelters all across the US. They needs home very badly. Why would you add more to that?

I can understand that you want puppies from your dog but is your dog perfectly healthy? Have you done all the testing that is supposed to be done? Are you going to make sure these puppies don't have puppies themselves?

If you are truly serious about breeding, then you need to start out by getting yourself some good books on the topic of breeding yorkies, specifically. Then you need to sit down to read, read, read -everything you can get your hands on. Next, if you still think you need to follow through with your plan to breed, you'll need to find yourself an ethical, experienced breeder as a mentor. I am an old farm girl, so breeding, raising, and training animals has always been a major part of my life. HOWEVER, when I decided to breed my yorkies, I bought every "breed specific" book I could get my hands on, not just books about breeding or whelping, but about the whole biological yorkie as a breed. Then I found myself an excellent "breed specific" mentor (not just someone who has a dog that has had a litter or two) and we went from there. Before you do this, please call your vet and get an idea of what tests you need to have done for your dogs before breeding, and the cost of those tests. Then, inquire as to the expense of tests, ultrasounds, x-rays, and whelping materials that you will need to acquire during pregnancy. Finally, you will also need to find out what expenses are involved with a possible c-section, and obviously post-delivery care for mom and her puppies, i.e., dew claw removal, tail docking, and various immunization shots. Now, what I am about to say is meant to be taken in the sweetest possible way, I don't want to offend anyone here as I love my YT family. But, based on your original question, you probably weren't aware of the items that I've listed here for you to ponder which means you need to begin at square one, so head on over to the library or major pet supply store and get yourself some good books and enjoy reading about your sweet little furry kids.

My puppies will be spayed and neutered.i've got all the materials I call it my whelping kit lol.i'm totally aware of all the items you just listed I have it all in a box neatly I have prices of what my vet bill will be if I decide to breed i've done pretty much everything it's still the whelping box where can I buy a whelping box already made cause I have no clue how to build a whelping box but i've seen one also where can I buy an ultra sound I've seen some breeders use them when it's a week before the puppies come to see where the puppies are at or if they are breached (means that the puppy comes out feet first instead of head first).I wanna thank you cause if I hadn't already known this stuff it would have been a real kick in the butt lol but thanks for reinforming me
