| Dental Health.... I just purchased an adult male yorkie, 4 years old. I was told when I arrived to pick him up that he had just lost his top two front teeth and he was quite under weight. I brought him home anyway! He has gained some weight, i feed eukanuba puppy (dry) and chickensoup puppy (canned)... however, now his front bottom teeth are loose. His teeth are terribly brown and I can only assume that he has been fed canned food to keep his weight up while showing (his is a UKC Ch.) with out good dental care. (or could this just be a terribly genetic trait?) I am making progress with him learning to allow me to brush his teeth, but the front ones I'm afraid, he will lose (or have pulled) MY QUESTION: (after all that !! Who can recommend a dietary supplement that will improve his dental health overall? Just maintenance isn't enough now. Can anyone recommend something that they KNOW works. I would love some suggestions. I'm afraid if I don't have the time to "try and wait for results" or my little one will just continue to lose his teeth.. bit by bit. Thank you. |

| Thank you. I will do that, b/c chances are........ I also think I need to find a new veternarian who is more in tune with small dog issues - my vet just retired and i don't like the person who has replaced her. This instance has shown me that he isn't invested in my little one... so I shouldn't 'invest' in him, right? I am not disappointed in my boy and am very glad that I have him - now it is my goal to make him as happy and healthy as he can be. |

| I don't have any supplements to recommend except good old doggie toothpaste. Your dog needs to go to the vet very badly. He needs those wiggly teeth pulled and a good cleaning. I'm sure by now it could start affecting his heart and kidneys. If it gets bad enough his jaw can fracture.
