Pregnant Girl Wont Eat Puppy food! Any ideas? I bought her some puppy food to eat so she can be nice and strong when her babies come, but this time around she will NOT eat the puppy food I bought her! She rather eat the regular one she usually eats. She picks it out of the mixture and would rather starve.... Anyways any suggestions? PS I buy the girls Royal Canin for Yorkshire Terriers and bought Royal Canin Puppy for her while she is pregnant....

Personally, I do not like Royal Canin. Go to http://dogfoodanalysis.com and read the reviews on it. You might try mixing some of the puppy food with her regular food. It is normal for a pregnant female to go off her food the first few weeks of her pregnancy.

Mine always liked wet puppy food when she got fussy during pregnancy. Homemade food was good too (steamed rice, meat and veggies). Also for the kibble sometimes she wouldn't eat unless I hand fed her or threw it on the floor and then it was like a game for her to go get it.
