| Help please I don't know what to do. Hi! I just joined YorkieTalk.com because I'm hoping that this way I can get references of breeders. To be completely honest this will be my first Yorkshire Terrier. I have never had a small dog before. I have always have big dogs such as Rhodesian Ridgebacks which was the last breed of dog I had. I have becided to have a Yorkie because its a small dog that I can have at home plus they are beautiful. However this is harder than I thought. I have been e-mailing a lot of different breeders since Friday and right now I really like this breeder: http://www.housepetsupply.com/Yorkies.htm She seems really nice and the puppies from her last litter are gorgeous! But she lives in Texas! I was hoping that I could see the puppies before hand but I have not found any breeder near Miami, Florida. I am looking for a purebred and champion bloodline Yorkie. Please if you know of ANY breeder that is honest please let me know I would really appreciate it. Here are some other breeders that I have e-mailed but not all. I have not had the time to do so. I would like to know if anyone knows anything about them or what they think about them. Because I'm not an expert on telling who is a good breeder and who is not. Here are the links: http://www.yorkiebabypup.com/?page=default <---I read that they lie. But I don't know if its true. http://buymyyorkie.com/Home_Page.html http://www.show-mepuppies.com/index.htm http://www.bridgescreekkennels.com/index.html http://tonyastinycompanions.com/index.php http://www.elvisyorkshireterrier.com/ http://brandannahyorkies.homestead.com/pic.html http://www.sunshinepuppies.com/_mgxroot/page_10681.html http://www.fairviewyorkies.com/#.html http://grmakmoses.tripod.com/index.html http://www.firebrandyorkies.com/ http://yorkiesjs.com/index.html http://www.yorkieluv.com/index.html http://www.puppiesbysue.com/index.html http://www.puppyfind.com/redirect/?a..._id=ye47kh95a0 http://www.owensk9.net/index.html |

| That breeder looks pretty iffy to me. The mom is 9lbs which is over standard and she looks to have a coarser coat. She looks a lot like my Lacy who has a silky, but coarser than normal, coat. If you are okay with having a puppy shipped, check out www.yorkieshowdogs.com Click on available puppies. She has a 4 month old male available for only $900 right now and that includes shipping! I think he's gorgeous! And I've only heard great things about Glenda. She lives in Oklahoma

| Here are some thoughts on some of the sites/breeders you mentioned: buymyyorkie.com $5000.00 for a Yorkie? Hmmm....I question anyone who purposely breeds to get a 2 pound Yorkie...waaay to small IMO. USDA license raises a red flag--means the dogs cannot be kept in the home of the breeder. show-mepuppies.com Way too many different breeds being bred. Ships pups at 8 weeks-way too young. (Most respected breeders agree 12 wks is the minimum age a pup should leave mom and littermates.) bridgescreekkennel.com Several different breeds. Also, they are mixing breeds as they advertise "Shorkies". I counted and they have 20 breeding Yorkie moms alone...not counting all of the other breeds they claim to have. That is WAY too many dogs...this place reeks of puppy mill. They list their dogs as having 'Ch Pedigrees' (none of which appear to be AKC recognized) but they are all 5 and 6 generations back--which means that they attribute little if anything at this point. tonyastinycompanions.com MANy (at least 10) different breeds of dogs being bred, more if you include the cross bred ones ("Puggles" and "Doxie-Poos"), currently shows 20 different available pups--this place also reeks of puppy mill |

| Try searching our for sale forums. We have a lot of great breeders here that should be able to provide you with a quality pup, and lots of guidance as to the proper care.

| might I suggest my breeder.... Linda at Garlin Yorkies. her website is www.garlinyorkies.info, you would have to ship, or MAYBE, I do know that Linda visits Florida quite often, maybe you could hook up. She is a YT member )lksdolls) and the proud GrandMommy of my Hope! I can guarantee that her babies are beautiful and she truly loves them as I do. There are several of us here on YT who have her babies... Good Luck! d

| same shoes Girl I am in the exact same possition. I am still looking for my first yorkie its been 2 months still no pup. Although I have had small dogs in the past as a younger child like long haired chihuahua, palmeranian and Tibetan Terrier but my main knowlege is big dogs like rottwelers, pittbulls and large mixe breeds. its going to be my first yorkie and i am strongly against petshops, but never knew how hard it is to find a breeder and even harder to find a good one. Theres only one that i keep running to over and over again its Debs site http://www.sumtoiyorkies.com/ i had the pleasure of speaking to her on YT. She is extreamly knowledgable about yorkies and even helped me look for my ideal yorkie even if it wasnt from her. The more i learn about her and her yorkies the more it makes me want to get one from her. she has 4 pups right now just over a month old but maybe she might have them available by march.
