Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Petfinder......... I ran an ad in our local newspaper for Lexie's puppies this past weekend, had one sale so far (hooray!). These last two days, I received a call from someone from Petfinder.com and from what I LET them get out, sounds like they're saying they have interested buyers???!???? You may notice that I stated LET them get out, as the minute I heard it wasn't an actual interested buyer that I could meet, I asked exactly who was calling, heard Petfinder.com, and immediately said "no thanks" and hung up. So, I guess I'm asking....Does anyone know or has dealt with this organization before? My gut tells me to say "no thank you" to them, but should I at least be hearing them out? Has anyone else had calls from them and/or do you know how they work? I won't sell my puppies to a website, only to the person actually interested in owning the puppy. Anyway, before this get to long, just wanted some opinions. Thanks..............only the best forever homes for my babies!

| i have never had anything like this happen but I know for a fact that petFinder.com or PuppyFind.com will either one call you. You have to be very careful selling your puppies. BTW, Toby is doing great. |

| Lucky Lady. Are you sure it was petfinder.com or maybe just someone saying they were from there? I'm asking because Petfinder ONLY lists animals from shelters or rescues. They do have a classified setction that you can list yourself on and it's free - so it makes no sense for them to contact looking for you to list your pups. Something isn't right with that. Elaine |

| humm, I think I would be careful. You do the interviewing of people, and that way YOU know where your babies are going. Like the others on here, I thought Pet Finders.com were a rescue place/or where they listed pets for sale. You need to actually see the people that are taking your babies, so that you know they are in a good place and a forever home. Go with your heart. darlene |

| Did their number come up on your phone?? If so were they calling from your local area? I would call back that number if you can and see who answers it..maybe a pet store or something??? IDK it sounds wierd. I think you did the right thing by not letting them talk..sounds wayyyyyyyyy too fishy for me!! Dawn |

| I know for almost certain that no OFFICIAL person from Petfinder would have called. THey have much more important things to do, such as finding homes for the millions of homeless animals. I suspect it may have been a scam of some sort. IF they call back could you try to get more info out of them? I'm sure petfinder would like to know that someone is misrepresenting them.

| That does sound a little suspicious. I mean, even if they did work with/for Petfinder, they shouldn't have mentioned it if they were truely looking for a pet themselves...just doesn't sound right. Your babies are definitely NOT rescues. Maybe petfinder is trying to catch people who are BYB or puppy mill owners..you know..fighting crime. I don't know.. Just sounds weird. Maybe next time, you should drill them, talk to them a little longer, get a callback number and try to see where they're really coming from....

| petfinder it is a rescue service listing shelter and rescues adopting dogs/cats out.they do have a section for lost and found, pets for sale and pets for adoption.some times when you post in the paper I don't know all the details but other sites get your listing also, when you didn't even list there.maybe it was someone trying to tell you that they saw your ad on petfinder.

| Nope, PF is a rescue site only. There is NO for sale section. The only way the ad would have been listed on PF was if the owner listed it there, and if so, it would have been promptly removed.

| I'd stay clear of them. Petfinder is not in the business of finding dogs for other people. They have enough with all the rescues they have. I had an ad on petfinder, and someone called me regarding selling my dog for me. I told them I knew they were a scam, and hung up.
