I was holding my breath while reading your ordeal! I'm so relieved Hanna is on her way to recovery and the little girl is such a fighter. Not to forget your sheer determination, deligence and sticking to your gut feeling.

Is the little girl being fed by Mercedes now? She is adorable and I know she has a special place in your heart.

I don't like any meds for my girls if there is anyway around it I try to find it. If not I reasearch the drug to see if there is a better alternative.

You message is strong and I hope others will learn from it.

If I gave Mercedes "Little Miracle" of course it would be easier on me, BUT it would kill Hannah she would then think she lost all her babies...I will continue to feed her and keep her with her mommy...if I didnt Hannah would be so very sad!

I had a story Tuesday at the vet I will have to tell everyone sometime but it worked out fine and not nearly as scary as this. I so hope Hannah builds her strength once again and the baby girl makes it. You are their hero.
Awww you made me cry with "I am their Hero" I did what I needed to do to keep them safe. I cried on the shoulders of dear friends that reassured my every step, calling almost hourly checking on progress or merely holding my hand. Without their support I would have been a basket case, (you know who you are) your friendship is priceless!

YAY Kimberly! I'm sooo glad Hannah is getting stronger and stronger. I know it would have been so hard if you didn't win this fight for her...good for you!

Kisses to little Miracle and the new baby boys! Oh, we mustn't forget Mercedes....bravo to her for such an easy delivery for you!

I am so sorry for the ordeal you, Hannah, and the puppies had to go through. I am very glad it turned out well in Hannah getting better and for the life saved of her one miracle baby. So sorry for the loss of the others. Hannah is so lucky to have you there for her. Thank you for sharing her story so that others can be aware & prepared in case of similar situations.
I will keep you all in my prayers for continued good health.

We had to use Baytril a couple of times with our goats. I hated using it and we had to be extremely careful. I wasn't aware that it was even a drug they used with dogs. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience, but I'm very thankful that you posted about it so the rest of us could learn. Thankfully everything seems to be turning out ok for you guys. Good job mom!

baytril is a great drug for serious infections and bacteria that is immune to the more common antibiotics, but to use it with the other drugs your vet gave her is unsettling.

Kim, your story is exactly why, as much as I wanted to let Roxy have puppies, I chose to have her spayed. I don't have the knowledge nor the faith in our vets here to risk anything happening to her. While I know you have the knowledge and proved it by saving Hannah and her little angel, your vets proved they don't always have the right answers. I am so sorry Hannah lost her 2 little boys. And I am soooo glad you had the foresight to follow your gut instinct and heart and do what you thought was right. Bless you for that. Prayers for Hannah and her little one and the new little boys for long, healthy lives.

What a terrible ordeal you, Hannah and little Miracle had to go through.
So glad to hear Hannah is on the road to recovery and Miracle is thriving.
You could not have picked a better name for the little one.
She is Hannah’s little Miracle girl for sure.
Sorry you could not save the boys.
But, Glad to hear all went well with your other litter.
It’s so important to go with your gut in these situations.
Vets do not always know best and make mistakes with treatment.
What’s sad is these mistakes to often wind up being the death of our furbabies.

Kimberly, I am so sorry you, Hannah and the miracle little girl had to go through all of this and about the boys...but thank God Hannah has you as her mom. You have always been there for all of us and I would say if it wasn't for you, and your knowledge, experience, that this would be a very tragic story...I am so glad that Hannah and the little miracle girl are doing so much better....You are a hero and your are most definitely YT breeder hero for all your help and advice for the rest of us...
