If you are not interested in turning your dog over to a reputable rescue organization who is trained in finding a good home then I suggest you call the Humane Society, animal control and also rescue in your area to see if they know anything about this person. Did this person give you a vet reference? Then call this vet to see what they know about this person.

My gut is telling me something is wrong with all of this. I would rather error on the safe side for my dog.
Great post.

Default PS

PS...AKC has no authroity to stop breeders breeding whatever they choose..health or unhealthy...siblings or whatever, just so they are AKC eligible.
Is this female one you bought or bred yourself..?

It will give him a much better idea of how to treat her if he knows if this something she inheridited from her mother or if she developed this on her own. It will also show that if this is a heriditary condition we can contact the AKC and stop the breeding from her mother so that no other puppy has to go through this. As you have done we have asked other people too, including the AKC and they say we should be leary of people who will not give up the papers, because the papers actually belong to the dog not the owner.
I've never heard of a vet doing an investigation on a dog.

Hope all turns out OK.

The girl is right about breeding without papers, I would say sorry and move on.

Have you thought about placing her with a Yorkie rescue to be cared for and then adopted out. If you already have the meds for treatment it wouldn't be to costly for them. Also they will spay her prior to placement and no one will get her papers. If you can't care for her yourself right now they may have a foster home that can.

Good luck with the situation.

Listen to your instinct. If you have questions about this person's integrity it is probably because she is telling you somthing you don't believe or trust. Good luck in placing this precious little one.

Smile She has found a great pet home

I wanted to thank everyone for their helpful advice. I went with my feelings and did not place her with the person that wanted papers before proof of spay.

She had met 3 potential families and all I wasnt sure of, they just didnt feel right to me. I am so happy I posted here on YT since it led me to the best home for her! I got exactly what I wanted, a pet home where she is being loved, terribly spoiled , is receiving continued vet care and she will be spayed. I feel 100% about this one. I get updates on how she is doing and we are welcome to visit.

We are very thankful to Nicole(TLC) who made this possible, perfect match! She is now Patti's pampered Princess!

Even though there is no need for papers if you are not going to breed, I like to have the documentation. My male came with papers and he is in a 'pet' home, but I'm glad the breeder gave them to me. They are filed away with all his other health stuff. To me it makes a difference and I could understand why people would want to have the documentation whether they want to breed or not.

Now, this particular lady who keeps asking for the docs, she sounds a little sketchy to me.....I don't think she wants to have the papers just to have, she may end up trying to breed her.
