| Cottage Cheese/Yogurt? My female is going to have her litter very very soon (four puppies expected by x-ray) I have heard that you should give cottage chees or yogurt to help with milk production. How much should I give her? Thanks so much everyone!

| I think you should give her a mixture of both with some honey in it for one to two times a day, it depends on how much milk she produces. But itīs also good for her bones and so on, because the puppies need much energy and if the mother doesnīt get enough energy out of her food, she takes it from her body, muscles, bones... When the puppies are older you can give them such a mixture too, usually they love it |

| my moms hate cottage cheese but love the flavored yogurt, goats milk and cheese, I serve several small meals daily mixed with their dry puppy food. I use 1/2 table of tums daily too.

| Feeding I have a little girl that is due in 4 wks. At what point do you start supplements or i.e. cottage cheese etc. or do you wait until the pups are here? I feed a mixture of mostly Natural Balance with Royal Canin for Yorkies mixed in. What is the your opinion of these foods. I was thinking of mixing some other good food in just so they would have a variety. The Yorkie Place |

| I begin a couple of weeks before whelping a recipe of chicken or tuna, rice, tomato, garlic, carrots and broth baked for about an hour...serving small portions a couple time a day mixed into their dry food...after whelping increase the feeding to several small portions a day along with yogurt, cheese and goats milk and the 1/2 tums..
