| I am already feeding my 37 day pregnant yorkie Eukanuba for the Yorkshire Terrier Puppy. She just this past week started to show. I have heard about feeding an egg or cottage cheese? Is this good for them? I have always only fed my yorkies their special dog food. If I can feed this to her how much and how often? I also have heard that too much calcium is not good for them. Any advice as to what I should feed my little girl would be great! I don't take her to the vet until she is on day 45. Also is day 45 ok to do an ultrasound? Is it safe for the unborn puppies? |

| The Brat Pack Donating Member | about 2 weeks before Baby gave birth I was feeding her a mixture of boiled chicken, whole grain rice and cottage cheese. When she went into stage 1 labor I was given her whelping pudding. 1/2 cup goats milk 1/2 cup spring water 1 TBS Honey 1 egg yolk 1 cup whole yogurt all Baby's pups are doing great and all have gained weight. Also Baby's coat has stayed very nice, It's not dull looking or breaking.

| The Brat Pack Donating Member | I also wanted to add that I fed her this mixture morning and then around 4pm and she also ate her reg food (holistic eagle pack)

| Some may disagree with me...but really Eukanuba is not a good food...personally I think a raw diet and/or a top of the line puppy food like Eagle Pack, Merrick, Canidae, Innova, Wellness, Pro Plan, etc. would be best.

| Pro Plan (I'm assuming Purina) is not really a premium dog food. Raw food diet..... I've heard alot about C-sections with it. I keep the diet normal up until whelping time. That is, her regular dog food (not puppy, it has increased calcium though not much). I do increase her food about 3 weeks (est.) toward the end. This is just what I do. |

| I was not aware that Eucanuba was not a good food for my yorkies. What I meant to ask is an X-Ray ok to do at 45 days? It won't harm the unborn puppies? |

| The Brat Pack Donating Member | You should be able to. They have it both wet and dry.
