| I have a question for breeders This came up in a conversation I was having today. When we picked up Mocha from the breeder, last November, the male members of my family noticed that the male dogs all had red thingies on their dinky doos. Anyone know why (besides pregnancy prevention?) she would have them on the dogs? We're also not too sure how they would pee with them on. I never even noticed them but the guys thought it was pretty weird and thought they were more like torture devices. Plus, the dogs were in separate cages and wearing them. |

| If it was a wrap around their body, covering the penis it was a belly band. I've never heard of something that only goes over the penis of a dog. Maybe it was the actual penis they were seeing? When you look at a dog, you don't see it's actual penis - you see the sheath. The penis is inside the sheath. The actual penis is very red in color because of the blood in it. So if you ever see a dog's penis start to come out of the sheath, it'll look very red sticking out.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | You mean the lipstick? That is red and it comes out, that is prob. what they saw. If not I'm sure it was a belly band.

| LOL Too funny. With them being studs, I'm sure it was just the tips of their penis coming out of their sheaths

| They all say no it was not the penis that they saw. It was a red plastic thingy (thought to be too cruel in their eyes!) I guess I may never know. |

| wrap Some breeders allow the hair to grow long ( the long hair is called a pee trail) and wrap it in a plastic wrapper...it is only around the hair and when the boys pee it prevents them from burning the coat with urine..common when waiting to go in the ring also... |

Is there any place to find a photo of one so I can ask the guys if that is what it looked like? I don't think any of the dogs were going to the show ring though and Mochas hairs were trimmed close. Thanks | |
