| AKC Certificate I just recently looked at the certificate of pedigree that I received from the AKC and I noticed that the mothers - mother of my dog is Sassy. But then when I look at her fathers side. His mothers mother is the same dog. Is that ok for breeding? I hope this makes sense. |

Are you sure it's the exact same name? Alot of times in registries...the names are very close but not identical.

| Sooo....basically, your dog is the result of 1/2 brother/sister being mated. Yeah....that's not exactly what you'd call ideal. But, you have a healthy, loveable, spoiled furball out of it, which is all that matters at this point. |

| Actually if I'm understanding you correctly The sire's great grandmother and the dam's grandmother are the same dog, Correct? That would be an aunt-nephew breeding. This is actually a good line breeding if the bitch Sassy is of superior quality.

| That's correct....her grandmother and great-grandmother are the same dog. It's the same name and registration number. I just didn't know if you are suppose to do this. Well I can't tell you if Sassy was, but I feel like Sydney is ............I still love her the same. Thanks for all the replies.
