| 11 day old puppy not eating My dog Sassy gave birth to 5 healthy puppies 11 days ago. 4 girls and 1 male, they were doing fine until the last couple of days. My little boy is not eating, he acts like he wants to and roots around, but won't latch on! I went today and bought some formula for him, but he doesn't seem interested and he fights me giving it to him. He only weighs 7.4 oz compared to his siblings who are all over 11 oz. Any advice? I am so afraid of losing him. Martha |

| I would take all the girls out for a bit (in a warm confined place) and let the little man have the teats all by himself for about 15 min...see if that will help....its always best to suppliment the largest ones in the litter and let the little ones have the teats... if you have nurtidrops put a drop on your finger and wipe it into his mouth...if not use karo and give him the smogasbord hope this helps

| glad it helped sometimes the tiny ones need extra teat time, make sure you do this every couple hours for a few days or so if you can so he can build his strength...keep me posted

| weight is up today Well, my little boy is eating better today, he weighed 7.8 oz. just now, up from 7.4 yesterday at this time. I'm trying to give him some alone time with mom, but she doesn't care much for me taking the girls away. She gets too restless and won't nurse him! She does lay with the pups quite a bit, so I am making sure he is always close to her. I have also been giving him the nutridrops, so I am feeling better about him. Thank you |
