TINY TIA
FRIDAY 19thSEPTEMBER 2008
This day should have been the one of the most exciting days of my life, getting our new yorkie puppy, a little sister for Jessie ,our 14 year old border collie. As it turns out Jessie had a stroke this morning and I called the vet out and she said if she doesn't recover in 4 days she will need to be put to sleep. We were all devastated to say the least. Told the vet of my dilemma about today was the day to pick our new pup up and that I was going to call the breeder to cancel, but she said No, don't do that , go ahead . Jessie will need something to pick her up it will give her a new lease of life.So guilt ridden and upset we went to Petersfield to take a look. This is where our story begins.

Now I made a promise I really thought I could keep.
Having a furbaby won't stop us going away or having nights out, I said to my hubby confidently.
A big oops there.I got her in Sept 08 and cancelled our weekend away in Oct 08.
Changed my mind about going on another cruise in Aug 09.
Turned down staying at work for xmas lunch.
Avoid people at work when they are planning a night out.
Clock watching so I can get home on time at lunch.
Turned down courses

Doggy Holiday
As if that wasn't enough he didn't mind a doggy holiday for a week in August 2009. Not bad going as last year we had a 2 week cruise.

APRIL 2009
I did for a while think about getting a new play mate for Tia as she seemed so lonely without Jessie. Its not so easy to travel on public transport with two furbabys and Tia and me like to travel.I work as a teaching assistant so there are lots of school holidays and me and Tia jump on a bus , train or ferry boat and walk for miles. The ferry boat is one of her favorites and here is a pic.

MARCH 2009
So the whole family was grieving ,Tia too. Jessie meant a lot to our family. Our 2 boys were young when we got her and enjoyed family holidays with her so their memories were special.
The next couple of days were difficult ,I didnt say anything at work ,just carried on being my usual happy self. In fact you guys on here were the first I really spoke to.I wasn't being fair to Tia to be honest. With Jessie gone things wern't the same and I didnt want to give Tia the attention

SUNDAY 22nd MARCH 2009
Today Jessie had her second stroke, six months since her last. This time I knew it was different. Tia knew something too. For the next 3 days , Jessie didnt eat, drink or want to move into the garden for the toilet.Tia didn't want to play, didnt want to leave her side.On the Wed 25th March we had to make a family decision which broke our hearts. It was kinder to put her to sleep. I held her in my arms as she drifted off to doggy heaven.God
