does anyone have experience traveling to asian countries with their yorkie and know what documentations are needed and if it's safe?
I'd like to take cash with me when i go visit my grandma in taiwan but the flight is anywhere from 15 hours to 18 hours and i know that delta accepts dogs as a carry on and i'm hoping that since delta and china airlines have joint flights that it will be acceptable but i'm not sure whether he can handle 15-18 hours on a plane. i know i can barely do it.

It really depends on the country you're travelling to. Different countries have different rules and regulations regarding on bringing pets in. My sister brought her dog to Thailand before, and all she needed was just a health certificate.

I got the info below from Delta... hope it helps..

- Contact the embassy / consulate of the destination country to determine pet travel regulations.
- Obtain all necessary paperwork (i.e. health certificates).
- Contact your local vet to ensure your pet in is compliance with foreign health regulations.
- Check with the CDC about bring pet back into the U.S.
- Check with APHIS about international animal export regulations.
