Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Dog Survives Being Bound, Shot And Buried This is unimaginable . I don't even know what else to say. I hope whoever did this just rots. Star, the dog in this story, is going to have a happy ending though. She is really beautiful! Survives Being Bound, Shot In Head 40 Times And Buried Alive In Malta TEXT: 10:27am UK, Wednesday June 01, 2011 A dog has managed to survive despite being bound and shot in the head 40 times before being buried alive. The stray collie - named Star by her rescuers - managed to wriggle her way to the surface of the shallow grave where she had been left to die in Malta. Animal welfare officers were investigating a tip-off about three dogs being held in a cage when they heard her muffled whimpering. They were shocked to find only her wired-up snout poking above the ground. Star's snout was protruding from the ground. Rescuers were shocked to find Star still alive after being buried. As they dug her out, they were even more horrified to discover Star had her legs tied together with shoe laces and had been shot 40 times in the head with a pellet gun. The five-year-old was rushed to the nearest veterinary clinic where she had emergency surgery. Vet Trevor Zammit said: "We had to spoon out pellets from under her skin. The person who shot her didn't do so accidentally because she was shot from quite close range." Star's incredible tale of survival has touched the world with a Facebook page entitled Star: the dog who lived, set up in her honour. The site, which has attracted more than 35,000 people, also aims to raise awareness to animal cruelty, pet adoption and rescue. Police are now hunting the person responsible for her sickening ordeal.

| Now THAT'S animal cruelty. What can you say....some people aren't fit to wear skin. Star is a beautiful girl. I can't get over the pic of her with just her snout sticking up. Star should be in the "Miracle Dog Hall of Fame", along with Patrick. How they can have endured such abuse and survive...with their spirit intact...is just amazing!! It makes me realize how much an understatement it is to call them 'man's best friend'.

| You know when you think you have heard it all, here comes another sicko. I hope that whoever did this rots in hell along with the rest of the degenerates that would do such a low down thing to an animal. May God have mercy on your soul because your going to need it. I am so glad she is going to pull through this ordel and get a really good home and with a family that will love and protect her. |

| This is horrible! There are not words, censored or otherwise, that can be used to accurately describe the vile person guilty of this. WOW! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

| This is horrible I am crying so hard to think any person is such a low life to think of doing this to a dog. God Bless the people that tipped them off and the people that rescued him. I hope they find this person and torture them. This would not be good enough for them.

| I don't even know what to say...those images are sickening. Everytime I see something like this I am always troubled by how cruel some of society can be. A living, breathing creature treated in such a way. Most of us handle our garbage with more care than this poor baby was. Unexcusable! Of course, it wasn't an accident. How can you "accidentally" shoot something 40 times!!!! I hope the low-life or lives responsible for this are caught and justice for Star is given. | What an amazing story of survival!!! I cannot believe the pic of how that poor dog got her snoot above ground! I hope they find the sick ppl that did this, shoot them w a pellet gun 40 times, bury them w their legs tied as a lesson in empathy-building. Unfortunately, ppl who are capable of doing this to dogs are usually capable of doing it to other ppl, also. I hope authorities keep that in mind in sentencing/charging. I hope Star is fully recovered, in a furever home that will spoil her for her remaining years here!

| It is so sad to think that any person can be so cruel. I just can't imagine how sick one has to be to do something like this. I sure hope they are caught and severely punished. Thank God that person called and they found this poor baby. I just can't get over the fear and pain this poor little creature went through.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | How horrible, this sounds like it was done by a young person, since a pellet gun was used and shoe laces were used. I really hope they find out who did this; they have a little Jeffry Dahmer in the making. I wonder if they could catch someone young enough, they could rehabilitate them? By the way, the lastest updates say that Star died. Here are a couple of posts: Quote:
