Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Please help & sign petition! Hi all, I know you are all animal lovers, so am asking for some help signing a petition. We need 20k signatures and are currently over 17k. This isn't for dogs, but I still think it's for a good cause. I've been following the Ely, Minnesota bear research center. I actually observed a wild bear being born last year via web-cam. These bears are part of research, & the most amazing part, is they are radio-collared using no Knock-out drugs, or anything traumatic. They have learned to trust the researchers & some, not all of course will allow radio collars to be put on them. As of now, there is no law forbidding shooting these bears. Any hunter, despite seeing all the colorful ribbons the researchers add on the collars during hunting season are allowed to shoot them. The petition is for putting the research bears under protection, making it illegal to kill them. I have learned a lot about bears since finding them. If you are interested in viewing the bears, they are Lily (mom), Hope (last yrs cub who has a miracle story of her own), and Lily's 2 new cubs this year. The den cam is set up to observe their life in the wild, & was why I got to see Hope born last year. You can find it at www.bear.org & click on lily & hope. They have den cams this year for some of the other bears as well. If you would like to help change the laws for shooting these research bears pls go to http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/pro...-in-minnesota/ We are less than 3k signatures needed for our 20k goal. Lily also has a facebook page, & the folks there are pretty awesome about posting highlights from the days video footage. (Some of us don't have hours to spend watching sleeping bears for a glimpse of the new cubs.) They will let you know when Dr. Lynn is heading for the den so you can tune in & see the interaction between him & the wild bears. Some of you might have seen some of the documentaries made of him, or caught some magazine articles concerning their humane research. Please help if you can, we would really appreciate it.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you! Some really great views from the den at this point...Mom & older sister leaving it a lot, so getting good views of the new cubs these days. They will all be leaving the den soon. I don't watch as much as I used too....This laptop isn't the greatest at watching live feed, & hubby has the desk-top in Columbus. I've mostly been updated via FB posts.
