| deep fried fish that is still alive UGH Ok, this is SERIOUSLY WRONG. Who in the world would even THINK of trying to figure out how to cook a fish like this let alone WANT to eat it... its just disgusting and I wasn't even able to finish the video. I had never even heard of anything like this until I saw this posted on another forum. Caution: Its NOT for the faint of heart and I did not attach the actual youtube video b/c of how bad it is... so you need to visit the article which has the video on it to see it. Eating A Deep Fried Fish That's Still Alive (VIDEO)

| Leave it to China. That's as bad as the way they kill dogs, cats and other animals for fur. They have to be the most INHUMANE society I have ever heard of. |

You know what else is inhumane? The way millions of chickens, cows, pigs, turkeys, fish, etc. are treated in American factory farms! They are thrown in tiny cages and live in the dark so they don't know what's coming when the people come to butcher them. Some never even get to step foot on grass or see the light of day. They are injected with steroids and other hormones to make them larger (more profit) and then loaded with antibiotics so farmers don't have to deal with sickness. It's absolutely horrible. Think about that next time you bite into a burger. That's why I try to buy organic meat whenever possible. I'm sorry, I don't tend to get heated like this but man... some people...

| Well rest assured that I will not be biting into any animal at any time. And you are absolutely rite about the way chickens are treated and cows and all the animals raised for food consumption. And any one who purchases it from the grocery store is as guilty of the crime as the ones actually committing the crime. Come on now you can't tell me theres anyone out there who doesn't know about the abuse those animals endure. However at least we don't skin them alive. Imagine how you would feel if someone ripped off your skin while you were still alive. And the Chinese people all know it goes on and NO ONE cares enough to try to stop it . Maybe you need to research it for yourself. You can watch it on you tube, if you can stomach it. And after your done then we'll talk. |

| You still don't get that it's NOT OKAY to generalize an entire population like that. It's racist and has no place on a forum like YorkieTalk. Quote:

| Oh, and how is deep frying a fish any more inhumane than leaving it in a cooler (like fishers do) until it suffocates and then skinning it and gutting it?

| Sorry, last post. Also, to add some perspective... if you read the comments on the video, there are comments from Chinese residents who say that this isn't something that is served in China purposefully. This particular incident is an accident and the people filming the video are surprised by the fact that the fish is still alive (I don't actually know, I didn't watch it). In China they serve the fish fresh which means when you order it, you pick it out and they kill it and serve it. Not really any different than buying fish at the grocery store. Just because it's packaged nicely doesn't mean you aren't eating an animal that was killed. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with this AT ALL. I'm just saying that this was probably an isolated incident and is getting a lot of bad media which equals hysteria and a misinformed public. The way animals we eat are treated is an atrocity and this really is no different. SO if you are appalled by this, I suggest you do some research on the food here in our lovely country and maybe re-evaluate what you eat.

| Rite again. Murder is Murder no matter what color or size or shape you are. And cruelty is cruelty no matter the color or size or shape of the person doing it. And I do not eat meat of any kind . Last edited by lillymae; 11-25-2009 at 08:30 PM. |
