| So proud of my boy! I have a yorkie and a yorkie mix, both rescues and both certified for pet therapy. We met a wonderful woman as part of our monthly therapy dog visits to a local nursing home. Miss B used to breed standard poodles and desperately misses her dogs. So we go to see her occasionally on our own. I took Wendell and Finbar up to see her last Sunday evening. It was raining, so I was carrying Wendell, and fumbling with their leashes. As we were going down the hall, Finbar got impatient and pulled away from me. He ran down the hall past the nursing station where a man was standing. "Hey, there is a loose dog in here!" he announced. One of the nurses was at the desk, making notes on a chart. She glanced up, and watched Finbar make the turn down another hallway toward Miss B's room. She looked back down and continued writing, and calmly told the man, "Don't worry, he knows where he's going." Finbar ran down the second hallway, his ears and tail flying in the wind, and then turned and ran right into Miss B's room. By the time I caught up with him he'd run to her bed and was all proud and excited that he had found her. I put him up on the bed and he jumped on her and kept licking her face. She introduces him as "my boyfriend." This is a photo of the three of them, but Finbar is cuddled up so close next to her you can't see his face. |

| That made me smile so hard....They all look so happy! Jaeger and I are training on our own for CGC (the only place that offers the cgc classes here suggests you hit your dogs, i am NOT kidding.) He still has a lot to work on. In a month or two, we'll probably start working with a personal dog trainer to fine tune his behavior (and mine!) We still have 6-12 months before he's old enough for therapy work. |
