My comment attached to your comment was about what kind of doctor certification is required. It was meant to expand on what you said! Sorry if I created confusion with the second comment, which was addressing something different!

the United States Service Dog Registry (USSDR) represents the most democratic realization of an assistance animal registry and training and behavior standards agreement to-date. The results are a Registry with completely free and voluntary online self-registration hosted by an independent, non-governmental, privacy-conscious and secure service. This statement above is copied directly from their own website. Last edited by 4OC; 07-20-2017 at 11:54 PM.

| Folks please understand that the flight attendants and crew on a plane are "the law". They can and do decide what is permitted in a given situation. If you are told your dif can sit in you lap etc. before you are on a flight you are not being given accurate information. Once you are on the plane that crew will decide what is permitted or not. They have guidelines and the power to manage the flight in what ever way they feel is safest for that flight. Also understand once you leave US airspace many countries do not even have service dog regulations or recognize the ADA law. Good flight!

| Ummm, you need to check on that. Several of the airlines specifically state (and publish) that ESA, and Service Dogs for that matter, must remain on the floor. So best check that before you book. May make a difference in what airlines you choose.

| I thought that was the point of an emotion support dog. How is it supposed to comfort you on the floor if it's a small or maybe even medium sized dog? Ehhhh I don't fly anymore haven't since 17. It's uncomfortable and even more uncomfortable because I'm plus sized and they pretty much steal from you making you pay for every little thing it's crazy. I prefer driving plus I would never go anywhere I couldn't take all three.
