| I cannot believe how rewarding obedience training is... We have gotten our little girl jade 3 days ago. Since the first night we got her I have been doing multiple 5 minute sessions with her throughout the day. The first evening and the second day we just did sit. Which she caught on to REALLY fast. Today, just this morning I started working on Down (lie down) which she also seems to be getting. I absolutely love our little yorkie, and even tho it was my wife's favorite dog to get, I absolutely love the little thing. There is something fiesty and eager about them that I love. Can't wait until she is house broken tho :P |

| That's so awesome! I do at least 15 mins obedience/trick training with my boy everyday. It pays off in the long run. Congrats on your little baby and welcome to YT!!

Yep, it's awesome! I, too, find it sooo rewarding. And I think you form a really good bond.

| Awww! Fynnlie and I are working on 'Come' right now. He's learning his name pretty quickly which is great news. He's got the 'come' down pretty well. I need to work on 'No/Leave it' and 'sit.' But, it's only his second day home after quite the traumatic first day with me. So, we're working on it and he seems to be doing just fine! Congrats on your new addition and I'm so glad she's doing well with her training!! But, I know what you mean about wanting them to be house broken! :P

| What kinds of things do you do for obedience training? I just got Remy yesterday, he is 6 months old. I was thinking about taking him to obedient school but if there is a way to do it at home, I would love to know. Thanks so much. |

| Well she is now 4 months, and mainly the basics. Come, Stay, bed...and then her tricks that she loves to do. Sit, lay down, roll over, spin, shake paw, and some others. Its all about repetition. Yorkies are very smart and I am sure Remy will catch on quick. My little Jade is VERY food motivated haha. |

| We love obedience training for our dogs. We've been doing it at least one class a year since my 10-year-olds were little puppies. Now we are on Teddy's 4th class and he is 23 months old. He's a slow learner but he's learning! He has mastered the cookie command!!

| Very smart I am so amazed at how fast my little Max is learning. In just a minutes this morning I taught him to sit. I still can't believe how quick he caught on. When I got home from work he remembered and very quickly sit when I told him too. I wish he would get the potty training as quick. Haha. I think I am going to start to work on lay down. |

| It's great when it clicks and they do it without even thinking. I have 2 german shepherds and my yorkie and at meal times they don't take their food until told to do so. When you see them looking up at you waiting you just can't believe they wont eat until told.

| Obedience training is practically Tibbe's favorite thing in the whole world - he will egg me on to do it several times a day. He lives to perform and show off how much he knows. I am a poor trainer but he works hard and loves to work. Your little Jade sounds like a little star in the making. Training is such a bonding experience I don't doubt you two will be buddies forever. It is amazing how fast a Yorkie can worm its way into your heart and how much they love pleasing us and us them.
